Job Overview
The Garden Coach is responsible for connecting with and assisting customers throughout their shopping experience and caring for plants to ensure the nursery stock stays healthy and beautiful. The ideal candidate has intermediate to advance knowledge of regional shrubs and flowers.
This position is for you if you want to work in an environment that combines your desire to interact with customers with your knowledge of the horticulture industry.
Job Details
- Welcomes and engages with customers throughout their shopping experience
- Assists customers with their plant selection by uncovering their needs and presenting options
- Explains products and services to customers
- Ensures customers understand plant care instructions
- Maintains plant health within the Garden Center by correct care and placement
- Builds displays by following the provided design and set up instructions
- Keeps backstock organized and restocks Garden Center products
- Monitors inventory to ensure products stay in stock
- Helps unload incoming shipments and organizes products upon their arrival
- Helps load outbound deliveries
- Maintains the Garden Center’s cleanliness and organization
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Horticulture Experience (Required)
- Customer Service Experience (Required)
- TNLA Certification (Preferred)
- Retail Experience (Preferred)
- Full-Time or Part Time Position
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday shifts (Saturday shift required)
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to walk or maneuver around the store for 6+ hours per shifts
