Josh Richards was born and raised in northwest Fort Worth on Eagle Mountain Lake. A Boswell graduate and third generation business owner in the Fort Worth area, he takes pride in offering superior customer service that his grandparents taught him as a young boy playing in their small grocery store located on Boat Club Road. His passion is helping you stretch your imagination with your outdoor living ideas and then making them a reality. He also loves trees, he realizes the value and character they add to any landscape project. Terra also grew up in the Fort Worth area and watched her Dad operate a successful drywall business based on taking great care of his employees, as well as his customers.
Josh and Terra have been married twenty years and enjoy working together at Fossil Creek! They both graduated from Dallas Baptist University, Josh with a Business Management degree and Terra with Business Marketing. Josh also is a TNLA Certified Professional and a licensed Irrigator. They choose to utilize their opposite strengths and interests in the business to inspire, educate, and serve their team and customers to provide a unique shopping experience. Josh is often traveling to east Texas to hand select the best trees to offer to their customers, while Terra is working with her team to create inspiring designs, pick out unique pottery pieces, or plan fun educational events for the community.
Josh’s favorite plants are trees, especially the ones that some people might look over for a crooked trunk. Josh loves to incorporate these types of trees into landscaping to give it unique character. Terra’s favorite plants are anything that is new to the nursery! Ed knows when he places an order, he needs to a “plus 1” for Terra’s yard! They currently have over 13 different specimen of trees incorporated into their landscaping at home. Terra might refer to it as a “testing ground” to see how well each plants holds up to the hot Texas sun, watering changes, and clay soil of the Haslet area.
Josh and Terra have two children, Evie Kate and Zachary that are often seen running around the farm. They are also animal lovers, as is evident when you arrive and see Pepper and Cash, the resident horses, Johnny the on-site mouse manager, as well as Timber and Teddy, the family dogs. They are Texas Rangers fans and enjoy attending games as often as they can. In their down time, they love watching Evie and Pepper ride, and Zachary and Josh enjoy archery. You will also hear them say their hobby is cooking and eating good food!
