Unique Hibiscus that produces beautiful, purple, semi-double blooms along each stem in summer against dark green foliage. Narrow, columnar habit, reaching 10 to 16 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. Excellent for hedges.
The Purple Pillar is such a unique Althea with it's beautiful purple blooms and red/pink center. The other reason it is so unique is because of its growth, being a more narrow althea/rose of Sharon. Rebloomer throughout the summer. Heat and drought tolerant (once established ). Attracts bees. Mass planting, borders, container, screening and/or focal plant. Average water and well draining soils.
