The purple fountain grass has purple/burgundy stems and rose/purple plumes. They bloom late spring and throughout the summer with the colorful plumes. In North Texas this grass is considered a tender perennial. Due to the cold winters it usually dies off and does not come back. Average water and well draining soils.
